REMEMBERING OWEN – Never Really Gone

“Owen Hart, where do I start. Owen was the leader of a merry band of Canadians we call the Canadian mafia, and to me Owen was a type of guru to me, he helped me on the road when it came to traveling or a match. But the thing I will remember about Owen Hart is his ability to make me and anyone else laugh. And when I think of Owen I smile. Today it’s a little bit tough but I think of some of the things Owen did.” ~ Edge (From Raw is Owen)

That very emotional quote from Edge is how everyone should remember Owen on each day. A man who was so special, people to this day debate about what is best to remember him. Instead of focusing on the right and wrongs and his death we should smile. Smile because Owen Hart thrived on making people laugh and being entertaining. Smile because he lived life to the fullest and embraced a level of positivity that few people ever achieve. Smile because he was one of the funniest and most charismatic people you’ll ever seen in the WWE. And smile because he left behind a legacy of love, friendship and values.

Owen doesn’t truly need a Hall of Fame, though we all know he belongs there, as his level of talent lives on regardless. The amount of people that were on his recently released DVD expressing their love and admiration was truly impressive and heart warming. Daniel Bryan described him as simply “he could do anything” & Kevin Owens opened up about how he prays to Owen Hart before matches.

It’s hard for me to find the words for this because Owen was such a hero to me, but there is always an incredible strength and warmth in my heart on this day. I choose to watch some of his moments and laugh, always. Owen Had so many moments I can’t even begin to sum them up here. From his high flying career in Stampede Wrestling & Japan, to his absolutely legendary fued with his brother, to the Hart Foundation, his Slammy Award winning era and the tough matches towards the end of his career…he left an impact that is the definition of the word legacy.

Owen your always in our Hearts/Harts <3
